Dr. Amuzegar has taught at UCLA, University of Michigan, Michigan State University, University of Maryland, the American University and SAIS. He served the pre-revolution government of Iran as Minister of Commerce, Minister of Finance, and Ambassador-at-Large. He has been on the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund, representing Iran and several other member countries. He has written more than 50 journal articles and is the author of seven books on Iran, oil and economic development, the latest of which is Managing the Oil Wealth. Dr. Amuzegar has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles.

Dr. Bill is professor of government and director emeritus of the Reves Center for International Studies at The College of William and Mary. He is the author of the award winning study entitled The Eagle and the Lion: The Tragedy of American-Iranian Relations. He has also authored Politics in the Middle East and most recently Roman Catholics and Shi'i Muslims: Prayer, Passion and Politics. His views on Middle Eastern affairs have appeared in Time, Newsweek, Fortune, The New Yorker, The Wall Street Journal and Science.

Mr. Frederiksen's assignments in the Middle East region have included Khuzestan regional development, Dez River watershed protection, advice on privatization of water, sewage and electrical services in two major industrial cities for the Royal Commission of Saudi Arabia, and rehabilitation of irrigation systems and agricultural support services on the East Bank for USAID and the government of Afghanistan. He is currently the consultant on policy, institutional and technical aspects of water-resources management for governments, the World Bank and bilateral agencies in the Middle East, Asia and South America.

Dr. Gasiorowski is the author of U.S. Foreign Policy and the Shah (Cornell University Press, 1991) and many articles on Iranian politics and U.S.-Iran relations. His article, "The Power Struggle in Iran," appeared in the Volume VII, Number 4, October 2000 issue of Middle East Policy. He was a visiting fellow at St. Antony's College, Oxford University from 2001-2002. Prior to that, Dr. Gasiorowski was a visiting professor at the Faculty of Law and Political Science, Tehran University, in the summers of 1994 and 1996, and the winter of 1998. He is a member of the editorial board of Political Research Quarterly.

Dr. Ramazani has specialized in the Middle East since 1952 when he immigrated to the United States. He is widely acknowledged as "The Dean of Iranian Foreign Policy Studies in the United States." His many books include several volumes on the history of Iran's foreign policy since 1500, and others on the GCC and Iran's role in the Persian Gulf. Dr. Ramazani has also published over 100 articles and book chapters. A former vice president of the American Institute of Iranian Studies, he has served on numerous governing boards, including those of the Middle East Institute and the Iranian-American Council. He has been consulted by the White House, the Congress, the Departments of State, Defense and the Treasury, as well as by the United Nations Secretariat General.

Dr. Sullivan has been a professor of economics at the National Defense University since July 1999. For six years previous, he taught and researched at the American University in Cairo. He has traveled widely in the Middle East and North Africa. Dr. Sullivan has published articles on the political economy and economic diplomacy of Egypt, Jordan and Syria, the political economy of Iraq, the economic effects of the Gulf War of 1991, the economics of oil in the Middle East, the economics of the Palestinian territories, economic reforms in Egypt, and other issues. He had a column, "Cairo to Calcutta," in The Middle East Times. Dr. Sullivan received his B.A. from Brandeis University and his M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees in economics from Yale University.

Dr. Stauffer has taught economics of the Middle East, energy economics and Middle East economic geography at Harvard University, the Diplomatische Akademie in Vienna, and the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Dr. Stauffer has been a consultant in the executive office of the president, the anti-trust unit of the Federal Trade Commission, the International Energy Agency (Paris), the UNDP and UNIDO.
